My path into language wasn’t accidental.

I’m Anikó Bálint — a certified English–Hungarian translator and interpreter based in Budapest, specialising in corporate training, L&D programmes and business communication.

I spent seven years at Develor International — one of Central Europe’s most respected L&D consultancies, with a network spanning 11 countries. I coordinated training programmes, worked alongside coaches and facilitators, kept the operational engine running, and served as Personal Assistant to the CEO. I was, in the best possible sense, the person who made sure everything worked.

It was in those rooms — watching trainers do what they do, seeing participants light up or switch off, feeling the energy of a session that lands — that I realised I had a gift for language I hadn’t known was there. My colleagues saw it before I did, and they encouraged me to do something about it. I eventually left to pursue translation and interpreting professionally. I’ve been trying to live up to that ever since.

I went back to university, earned my postgraduate certificate, and Develor became one of my very first returning clients. Some things come full circle in the best way.

Today I work alongside Bird & Bird, one of Europe’s leading international law firms, and I run a freelance practice serving multinational companies, L&D providers and international organisations across Europe.

What working with me actually looks like

Whether you need a document translated or an interpreter in the room — these are the standards that don’t change.

  • YOU BRIEF ME ONCE

I study your materials, terminology and programme goals in advance. On the day, I arrive prepared — not curious. You won’t spend the morning explaining your content to me.

  • I’VE COORDINATED FROM YOUR SIDE

Seven years running L&D operations means I understand what’s at stake for you — the budget, the expectations, the trainer relationship. My performance reflects on yours and I don’t take that lightly.

  • PRECISION WITHOUT RIGIDITY

I maintain exacting standards on terminology and accuracy while staying flexible in dynamic, fast-moving environments. Training rooms don’t run to script — and neither do I.

  • DISCRETION AS STANDARD

Every engagement is handled with full confidentiality. I am happy to sign NDAs and data processing agreements before project commencement — and I use professional-grade translation technology for all written work.

  • I SPEAK BOTH CULTURES

Hungarian and international business cultures handle authority, feedback and humour very differently. I navigate those differences in real time — so nobody leaves the room with the wrong impression.

  • TRANSLATORS WITHOUT BORDERS

Language access is a right, not a privilege. I volunteer as a translator for Translators Without Borders, contributing to projects in human rights and humanitarian communication.
